Working Wednesday

Happy Wednesday!

Today has started out as a great day!  I walked three miles on the greenway and go some fresh air in this cooler weather.  Now, it is time for Working Wednesday.  I have several projects in progress right now.  I am working on some Christmas cards for my sister, so that is the first order of business today.  I started on them last week and I am going to work on them for awhile this morning.

Then, I am going to work on basting and quilting the table runner.  I have both the front and back pieced now and it is close to being finished.  Here's a sneak peek of the front and back:

Hope you like it!  Let me know what you think!
I will keep you updated on it's progress over the next few days!

Working Wednesday

It's Wednesday!

I hope your day has started out well!

I have been busy working on a huge handmade card order this past couple of weeks and now the order is on it's way to it's new home!  Here are the four main cards I did for my client:

Thank You...Blank inside

Note of Appreciation--Blank inside

Happy Birthday--Relax, Have a Beautiful Day

Wishing you a Happy Birthday!--Relax

These cards are made with dry embossed backgrounds and heat embossed lettering on the inside and outside!  I also sent her some miscellaneous cards that I will post later this week!

Becky and her staff will take great care of you!

Now, I am starting on some Christmas cards and I will be working on some sewing projects this week also!  I have missed my sewing, so it is time to get back at it!

Don't forget to check out the Modern Quilt Guild Blog for the QuiltCon Block Challenge post today!  It's Day 9 and there are some pretty awesome blocks on there and there is so much inspiration.
I know I would love to make a quilt with every one of the blocks featured so far,
because they are all so awesome!

Hope you have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Sunday Sampling

Happy Sunday to you!

I hope your day has started out to be a peaceful one!

It's Labor Day weekend and I have been working hard on some projects.  My handmade card order is just about finished and will be out the door early this week.  As I finished it, I do have to start on an order of Christmas cards, but I am going to take a break for a day or two to work on my next sewing project, which is a Table Runner for the SewSwapIt group.  Below are the fabrics that I intend to incorporate into this project.  I just love the Pumpkin Fabric!  I have paired it with some different Kona solids.  I am not sure if I will use all of them, but we will see.  I think I have a design in mind, so I am ready to get started!

Let me know what you think of my choices!

Working Wednesday

Happy Wednesday!

I hope your day has started out to be a great one!  Today is Working Wednesday and this is what I'll be working on the rest of the week!  This is a card order I have that is for my sister's friend.  She owns a spa and wanted some handmade cards to send out to her clients.  I am very thankful for this order, because it is giving me a chance to be creative and do one of the other things I love, which is card making.  So, I will be busy wrapping up this order before I sew again!

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Thankful Thursday!

It's Thursday!  Time to be Thankful!!!

Today, I am thankful for beautiful weather and beautiful views.  We are having some wonderful weather here in East TN right now.  It is unusual to have low to mid 80's weather for August.  I love it!  It is great weather to sew by.  I took this picture back in April at our Quilt Guild Retreat in the mountains.  We had some beautiful sunsets then and we have had several recently, but I have not had my camera in hand to catch them.  I am going to try harder to have it with me more often.

"The world has enough beautiful mountains and meadows, spectacular skies and serene lakes. It has enough lush forests, flowered fields and sandy beaches. It has plenty of stars and the promise of a new sunrise and sunset every day. What the world needs more of is people to appreciate and enjoy it." ~Michael Josephson, whatwillmatter.com

I am working on several projects right now.  I have my card order in the works and I took some time to work on the quilt that I am quilting.  Today has been a busy day so far, so I am now back to it!

Have a great Thursday!

Working Wednesday!

Happy Wednesday!!

I hope your Wednesday has started well!  I have been to the gym and back and now I am getting ready to tear into this busy day!  It has been a busy week so far.  I have worked on several projects and here is the update.

The tote bag I made for the Sew SwapIt swap has flown the coop.  I sent it yesterday and I can't wait for my partner to get it!  It is bold, big and bright!  I wanted to keep it, but sadly I had to send it off!  Oh well!  I sure hope Jackie likes it!  I will reveal pictures of it on Friday.  She wanted to be surprised, so I will hold off on posting.  :)

I also got one order of cards done and out the door.  They were for my sister and there were 44 birthday cards in the order.  On to the next thing!

I am quilting a quilt for a friend and I got it pinned last night and the binding strips cut out.  I will be working to quilt it today I think, in between working on cards for a big order I have.  I think this will be a good mix of projects that I can go back and forth on.  At least I think I can do work on both today!  We will see!  Here is a pic of the quilt I am quilting.  This is such a pretty quilt and I can't wait to see it finished!

Got to run and get busy!  Have a great Wednesday!

Work Wednesday!

Hey all!  Happy Wednesday!

I started the morning early and haven't stopped since.  It has been a wacky day.  Had errands to run and had to meet my college boy to get some new shoes and stuff.  We did get to eat lunch together....at first he said no, because he had too much to get back to campus and do, but I enticed him with some Japanese stir fry.  He cannot pass up Japanese or Chinese food!  LOL  :)

Now, I am home home, starting laundry and getting ready to start working on some more card samples.  Later...it will be sewing time.  I had to run to Joann's after I ran out of the color of thread I was using last night.  UGH...unfortunately, it was a special color I was quilting with and I didn't have any more.  Of course, I was almost finished quilting when I ran our!  Murphy's Law, I guess!  LOL

Well, back to it!  Have a great day!!!!

SP & Company...Love you!

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday!

I hope you are having a great day today!   This week at SP & Company Stamps, we are celebrating not only our wonderful January Stamp releases, but we are using some of our stamps from this past year.  Today, I used the Large Polka Dot Background Stamp, released this month and I also used
Candy Hearts Stamp set, released last January 2011.

Card size:  4.25" x 5.5"
SP & Company Stamps:  Large Polka Dot Background, Candy Hearts
Cardstock:  American Crafts
Embossing Ink:  Big & Bossy Clear
Embossing Powder:  Ranger Distress Milled Lavender, Zing Rouge
Chalk Ink:  VersaMagic Jumbo Java, Red
Embroidery Floss:  DMC White
Buttons:  Unknown

Valentine's Day is coming up and I wanted to make several cards!  I love combining stamp sets when I can and I love background stamps.  They can really make a card interesting and make it "Pop!"  I used the Ranger Distress Embossing Powder for the background.  Once it is embossed, you can rub it and release some of the crystals and it makes it more distressed like it is not completely stamped.
I love that look!

Jump on over to the SP & Company Store and get your stamps and all your stamping needs.  Also, don't forget to check out Sami's projects at Scrapmaster's Paradise!

SP & Company Stamps January Blog Hop 2012

Happy Tuesday to You!

Welcome to our first SP & Company Blog Hop in 2012!

I am so excited about 2012 and all the fun things that SP & Company has in store for you! We have lots of wonderful stamps and the quality of these clear stamps is incredible. I just love how these stamps will stamp such clean, clear images and they are so easy to clean!

This month's color is WHITE (or Cream)! After you're done hopping around today, make sure you play along with this month's White challenge (click here for details) for a chance to win some awesome SP and Company prizes!

I wanted to show off one of our new background stamps called Little Floral Background.  Although it is a "floral" background, I wanted to make a more masculine card to show its versatility.  I chose to use the background on the card base and to make a pattern piece to use along with the base.  I used Ranger Distress Ink in Tea Dye to give it the worn distressed look and also use VersaMagic Chalk Ink in Jumbo Java to add a more worn look.

Here is the card I created for the Blog Hop:

Cards Size: 4.25" x 5.5"
Cardstock:  Stampin' Up
Dye Ink:  Ranger Distress Tea Dye
Chalk Ink:  VersaMagic Jumbo Java
Embroidery floss:  DMC Vanilla and Tan

Happy Wednesday!

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  As usual, we ate way too much, but it was fun!
I cannot believe it is only three and a half weeks til Christmas!  Where has time gone?  UGH...I am so not ready for Christmas!  Oh well...guess I better get ready!

Today is Design Team Wednesday at Scrapmaster's Paradise and I have a couple of simple Christmas cards to show you!  I had to make a whole bunch of cards for my sister to send out.
In fact, I am still making cards, as she needed more than she originally planned.
These are just two of many cards I am making!

This one uses the sentiment from Christmas Medley!

This cards uses the sentiment from the  Christmas Emma stamp set!!

I will be back with more cards soon!  I am up to my elbows with cards right now!

SP & Company November Stamp Release!

Happy Thursday!

The SP & Company November Stamp Release is finally here! We have had some great sneak peeks, but it's time to finally reveal the stamps!

This month's color is Red! Not only does the Design Team get to play with this color, but YOU do too! After you're done hopping around today, make sure you play along with this month's red challenge (click here for details) for a chance to win some awesome SP and Company prizes! And don't forget that the random prize patrol is watching so leave a comment on every blog each day to be eligible for the prizes!!

Today, I have made a large Christmas tag for one of my special Christmas gifts.  It is a homemade gift also, but I am still working on it and cannot reveal it at this time.  The new stamp set I am working with today is just awesome!!!  It is called Vintage Varsity and these numbers can be used for anything from sports to tags!  I decided to use the number 25 since that is Christmas day and I stamp it on light card stock six different times in offset rows.  It looks like I cut the paper down to size, but that is how I stamped it...so that the image goes off the page.  I also stamped most of it lightly to give a more distressed look and then stamped it dark, one good time.  I also used the Christmas Medley sentiment and then took an edge distresser to each layer and also added some brown and black ink.  These techniques help to make this tag more distressed and old fashion.

Tag Size:  4" x 6"
SP & Company Stamps:  Vintage Varsity(numbers), Christmas Medley(sentiment)
Card Stock:  Stampin' Up
Pattern Paper:  My Mind's Eye
Embossing Ink:  Stampin' Up Dye Soft Suede
Chalk Ink:  VersaMagic Jumbo Java, Black
Ribbon:  Michael's
Flowers/leaves:  Prima
Edge distresser:  Heidi Swapp
Brads:  Spare Parts by The Paper Studio

I hope I have inspired you to make some homemade Christmas tags!  This is a big tag and it was so much fun to make and it also looks so much better than a store bought tag and your friends and family will appreciate your handy work!
Make sure you check out the SP Blog and see what Samantha did with the new stamps! Also, Patty, Stephanie, Kelli, Chrissie and Jen all have projects for you today, so stop by their blogs and check out what they have been up to.
