It's Fall!
Hello! It is officially Fall now!(Yes, I know Fall started two days ago on Tuesday!) We have had some plumbing issues here at the homestead, so I've been a little busy. I just wanted to share a photo I took last fall in Nov. It is of a maple tree in my backyard. Since we are still quite green here in East TN, I thought I'd give you a feel of the cool crispness that we all love about Fall! I'll be taking some pics again, once the leaves start to change.
I'll be sharing some fall projects very soon, so I wanted to get you in the mood! Have a great night!

Cards for Heroes
Hey there everyone! Hope you are having a wonderful weekend! I just wanted to share something really quick! Have you heard of Cards for Heroes? If not, you need to check them out. It is a wonderful organization that scrappers can help to make cards for our troops to send to their families back home.
OUR MISSION
To support our nation’s armed forces by sending blank greeting cards to write home on, as well as cards of gratitude to encourage them.
http://cardsforheroes.org/
Please join in the effort to make cards for those that do so much for our country! They always want everyday cards, but right now they are looking for holiday cards, such as Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas!
CARD DEADLINES:
Please postmark your cards by these dates:
Halloween: Sept 20
Thanksgiving: Oct 5
Christmas: Nov 1
Hannukkah: Nov 1
All other cards: anytime!
It is a great effort and it makes you feel good by doing something to help others keep connected with their loved ones back home! I'll be sharing some of my cards soon! Hope you have a great evening!
P.S I am so honored! I just went to the Cards for Heroes website and found out they used my suggestion for the name of the new challenge for Christmas! Wow! They asked on Facebook for suggestions and I came up with 'Tis the Hero! That is so cool! Below are the details!
"Tis the Hero" challenge
Fa la la la la! It's almost Christmastime at CFH! That means it's time for a challenge!!
The challenge runs from Sept 1 - Oct 15th; note that our deadline for holiday cards is Nov 1, but early birds get the benefit of qualifying for one of our prizes! Last year we mailed 35,000 cards during Sept through Nov, how many will we get out to our heroes this year??
PRIZES! We have some stamp sets and other goodies to share - we'll be showing photos on the Homefront Blog soon! (Sorry, with the bday party coming up, we've been just a little busy!)
Note: This year we'll also count non-Christmassy cards - last year we had lots of Christmas ones, but had no birthday or love cards, and a few of our contacts missed getting those! So - of course the heaviest emphasis is on holiday cards, but feel free to add in a few others too!

It's Friday Night Football!
Hello everybody! Today is a great day! It's Friday--Yeah!!! It's also Friday Night High School Football!!! I'm heading out in just a little bit to our game tonight! We are playing away tonight, so it's roadtrip time! Not too far though!
The reason I bring this up is because I know there are lots of you that have football players, whether it be in high school or younger. I take a lot of pics on the field and in the stands. I want to know how you scrap your football photos. I have not scrapped any yet(I know...bad mom, but I do have plenty!) LOL
One idea I have is for Homecoming Week. Ours is not until Oct., but they have spirit days all 5 days that week(last year one was Spirit day itself and you wore school colors, one was dressing up like your fav cartoon character, etc.) This year, I want to take pics that week and make a mini album of the week with all the activities, including the bonfire and olympics and then the game itself! What ideas do you have? Come share with me!
Have a great night and a great Labor Day weekend!! I'll be back tomorrow to share some more!

Ready for Some Cool Weather and a Cool Card?
Hello there ladies! It's September and I am having a hard time trying to figure out where this summer has gone and even where the year has gone. We have not had extremely hot weather here this summer, but we are getting a taste of Fall now! Yeah...but I am sure it won't last long. I am getting ready to work on some Halloween goodies that I will be sharing later, but I wanted to look forward to the Christmas and Winter season! Here's a card I wanted to share to get you in the mood for some cooler weather!
I used Bazzill cardstock and the Bo Bunny Winter Whisper pp. I used the Fiskars edge punch, VersaMagic Jumbo Java Chalk Ink, Stickles in Cinnamon and Turquoise and my new Cricut Cartridge Graphically Speaking. I plan to do some more cards that are similar soon! Stay tuned for more! Thanks for stopping by! Have a great night!
