Layer It! Challenge @ DCRS


Here is my entry for Week #2 at Die Cuts R Us! It was a "Layer It" Challenge! We had to create a layered embellishment for a LO/card/altered item.

I decided to get my Cricut out and use my new Graphically Speaking cartridge. I cut out all the lettering and the butterflies. I used the Icon and Icon Blackout features to create my butterflies. I then ran the Icon Blackout piece(bottom) of each butterfly through the Big Shot to add some depth with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dot embossing folder and the used chalk ink to show the texture. On the top of the Butterfly, I added Stickles, let that dry and then added the gemstones.

    Great.... I like using the negatives of die cuts too, but so often they just get tossed. They have so much potential. I love the colors on the project
