Cards for Heroes

Hey there everyone! Hope you are having a wonderful weekend! I just wanted to share something really quick! Have you heard of Cards for Heroes? If not, you need to check them out. It is a wonderful organization that scrappers can help to make cards for our troops to send to their families back home.

OUR MISSION
To support our nation’s armed forces by sending blank greeting cards to write home on, as well as cards of gratitude to encourage them.

Please join in the effort to make cards for those that do so much for our country! They always want everyday cards, but right now they are looking for holiday cards, such as Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas!

CARD DEADLINES:
Please postmark your cards by these dates:
Halloween: Sept 20
Thanksgiving: Oct 5
Christmas: Nov 1
Hannukkah: Nov 1
All other cards: anytime!

It is a great effort and it makes you feel good by doing something to help others keep connected with their loved ones back home! I'll be sharing some of my cards soon! Hope you have a great evening!

P.S I am so honored! I just went to the Cards for Heroes website and found out they used my suggestion for the name of the new challenge for Christmas! Wow! They asked on Facebook for suggestions and I came up with 'Tis the Hero! That is so cool! Below are the details!

"Tis the Hero" challenge
Fa la la la la! It's almost Christmastime at CFH! That means it's time for a challenge!!

The challenge runs from Sept 1 - Oct 15th; note that our deadline for holiday cards is Nov 1, but early birds get the benefit of qualifying for one of our prizes! Last year we mailed 35,000 cards during Sept through Nov, how many will we get out to our heroes this year??

PRIZES! We have some stamp sets and other goodies to share - we'll be showing photos on the Homefront Blog soon! (Sorry, with the bday party coming up, we've been just a little busy!)

Note: This year we'll also count non-Christmassy cards - last year we had lots of Christmas ones, but had no birthday or love cards, and a few of our contacts missed getting those! So - of course the heaviest emphasis is on holiday cards, but feel free to add in a few others too!
