Thankful Thursday

Happy Thursday!

Today is Thankful Thursday!
I am very thankful today for family and friends who support me in sewing and quilting endeavors.  I love to sew and quilt so much that I have become very passionate about it.  I am hoping one day soon to start a business, but first I want to learn more and become really good with my techniques.  I have come a long way from when I started  three years ago.  I love the modern techniques of quilting tied into the traditions of old.  I have learned so much, but one thing I definitely want to get better at is free motion quilting.  I have got to start practicing, so that I can learn some patterns other than stippling.  Now, I love stippling, but I am still not great with it and need more practice with it also!

Below are two projects that I did with free motion stippling.  They turned out pretty good and the good thing with stippling is that it is very forgiving.  I am going to keep practicing this and also try to learn a couple of new patterns to try along the way!

  1. these are beautifully done..what a great idea for Philmont memories... should try and do that with all our photos from our trip... I attempted some FMQ yesterday... as my machine will not set a zero stitch length I have to drop the feed dogs and I don't know if I will get the movement right or not... guess it's a matter of lots of practice...
